Responsibilities & Benefits
Call schedules vary from site to site. Typically PGY-2 to PGY-4 residents take calls once monthly. All is home call. During the call weekend, the resident is expected to round on the patients at the hospital for which they are covering. If not scheduled to be on call, residents are not required to work weekends.
PGY-2 to PGY-4 residents are granted time for approved educational activities.
- PGY-2: 2 days
- PGY-3: 3 days
- PGY-4: 4 days

Paid Time Off (PTO)
Residents are given PTO annually, to be used for both sick and vacation time. PTO amounts vary depending on post-graduate year in training. Per the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (ABPM&R), any days taken beyond 30 require an extension of training.
